DESCRIPTION:The Center on Law and Security was pleased to host Martin Chamberlain and Maya Lester\, two of the UK’s leading human rights lawyers on October 11\, 2013. \nMaya and Martin discussed “Secrecy and Sanctions:  National Security Law in the UK.”  Developments in the British courts regarding sanctions\, drone strikes\, and the ability to protect classified information have had a significant effect not only on British national security law\, but also on the counterterrorism relationship between the US and UK.  Martin and Maya have been at the forefront of much of this litigation and their discussion looked into the state of national security law in the UK. \n
