DESCRIPTION:The Center on Law and Security hosted a talk on “Surveillance and Intelligence Oversight in the UK:  A View from Across the Pond\,” with Kevin Metcalfe\, Technical Liaison Director with the Embassy of the United Kingdom in Washington. \nKevin discussed the organization of the intelligence community in the UK\, and the ways in which the British government carries out oversight of its security services.  After a detailed explanation of the United Kingdom’s intelligence services and it’s legal framework\, Mr. Metcalfe fielded questions regarding the cooperation between intelligence services and if that cooperation extended to oversight. \n
