Under a potential deal\, Iran would put significant limitations on its nuclear program in exchange for sanctions relief from the international community. But the detail and effects of any potential agreement are far from simple. Iran’s regional rivals\, who are core U.S. partners in the Middle East\, are deeply concerned about how a deal will change regional power dynamics. There are also questions about economic competition\, particularly in energy markets in the aftermath of a nuclear deal. And there are many questions about how the United States and the European Union would be able to re-impose their punishing economic sanctions in the event that Iran does not adhere to a deal. To address these questions\, the Center for a New American Security and the Center on Law and Security at NYU School of Law will convene a high-level forum of Middle East and sanctions experts to discuss Iran and the future of regional security and economics. \nEvent Schedule – Tuesday\, July 21\, 2015 \nEvent Timing: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.\nGuest Registration: 8:30 a.m. – 9:00 a.m.\nIntroductory Remarks:  \n\nMichèle Flournoy\, Co-Founder and CEO\, Center for a New American Security\n\nKeynote Address:  \n\nJon Wolfsthal\, Senior Director for Arms Control and Nonproliferation at the National Security Council\n\nPanel 1: Iran Nuclear Deal’s Regional Impact \n\n Suzanne Maloney\, Senior Fellow\, Center for Middle East Policy\, Brookings Institution\nDavid Makovsky\, Ziegler Distinguished Fellow\, Project on the Middle East Peace Process\, The Washington Institute for Near East Policy\nMelissa Dalton\, Fellow and Chief of Staff of the International Security Program\, Center for International and Strategic Studies\n\nModerator: \n\nIlan Goldenberg\, Senior Fellow and Director of the Middle East Security Program\, Center for a New American Security\n\nPanel 2: The Future of Iran Sanctions \n\nElizabeth Rosenberg\, Senior Fellow and Director of the Energy\, Economics and Security Program\, Center for a New American Security\nColin McGinnis\, Policy Director\, U.S. Senate Committee on Banking\, Housing and Urban Affairs\nSean Thornton\, Senior Counsel\, Group Financial Security\, BNP Paribas\nCaroline Hurndall\, Head of Middle East Team\, British Embassy in Washington\, D.C.\n\nModerator: \n\nZachary Goldman\, Executive Director\, Center on Law and Security at New York University School of Law; Adjunct Senior Fellow\, Center for a New American Security\n\nFor more information please click here. \n
